Sri Lanka tour will be good World Cup preparation - Gibson

Bridgetown, Barbados – The West Indies team’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka is being seen as “good preparation” for next month International Cricket Council’s World Cup to be played in Asia. Speaking before the team departed from the Caribbean, Head Coach Ottis Gibson said the three matches in Sri Lanka will give the team a chance to get acclimatized to the conditions, where the 10th Cricket World Cup will also be played

Best fired up at being named in CWC 30

Bridgetown, Barbados– Fast bowler Tino Best is delighted to be among the 30 players named by the West Indies Cricket Board in the preliminary squad for the ICC World Cup 2011. The 29-year-old, who is rated as one of the fastest bowlers in the region, said he is quietly confident of making the final 15-man squad to be named next month.

The World Cup will be played in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from February 19 to April 2.
