Hydel, Quest, M'brook, Ardenne win in Prep Cricket

Kingston, Jamaica - Hydel defeated Mona by seven wickets at the Lucas cricket ground as the 2014 Scotiabank Prep School cricket competition bowled off on Wednesday.

Batting first, Mona made 125 for nine, with Joshua Lewis getting 28, Matthew Bell 18, Damauco Darling with 3 for 20, and Hurghly Knight 2 for 13.

Hydel replied with 126-3 in only (22.4 overs). Their top scorers were Navaugh Lindo with 36 and Rashaun Thompson 17 not out, giving them an emphatic seven-wicket victory.

Three matches were played on Thursday. At Melbourne Oval, Quest beat Our Lady of the Angels (OLA) by seven wickets. OLA were first dismissed for 42 (9.2 overs), with Mekala Gordon the top scorer with 13. Blain Byam took 3 for 13 and Rivaldo Mitchell 3 for 18. Quest cruised to 43 for 3 in just 5.3 overs. Mitchell and Jahiem Rose were both unbeaten on 10 not out.

On the same day, Meadowbrook defeated Richmond Park on 118 runs. Meadowbrook made 181 for five, with Perry Young getting 67 not out. Richmond Park, in reply, only got to 63 all out in 19. 3 overs. Tamali Haywood bagged four for 17 and Jonah Cooper two for 14.

Over at Kensington Park, Ardenne scored a narrow six-run win over Glowell. Scores: Ardenne 108 all out (19.3 overs). Glowell replied with 102 runs in 21.3 overs.
