Hyatt 50 as Windies A recover
North Sound, Antigua – Danza Hyatt stroked a power-packed unbeaten half century by lunch on day one of the First Digicel ‘Test’ as he and Nkrumah Bonner staged a much needed recovery for the West Indies A against Bangladesh A at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds.
After being reduced to 11 for 2, the Jamaican pair combined for 89 runs to move the West Indies A to an even 100 without any further loss by the interval.
Hyatt reached 54 from 76 balls and has decorated his fast paced innings with eight fours and one maximum. He concentrated on striking boundaries straight and particularly through the off side as he took 66 deliveries to get to the half century landmark.
Bonner provided the counterfoil as he was more sedate but hit elegant cover drives all the way to the rope as he gathered 34 runs from 89 balls. He has so far counted four fours as the Windies A faced 30 overs in the session.
Robiul Islam has been to lone successful bowler for the visitors and has delivered 5 overs for 13 runs. He dismissed both Kyle Corbin (0) and Rajendra Chandrika (9) inside the first four overs as the Windies A openers failed to make an impression.
