HPC bat in 2nd Super50 semi
PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Sagicor High Performance Centre won the toss and chose to bat in the second semi-final of the Regional Super50 tournament against Jamaica on Thursday at the Guyana National Stadium here.
HPC are unchanged from their previous match, while Jamaica have brought Jermaine Blackwood into replace the injured Danza Hyatt.
Jamaica topped Group-B with 14 points, following a seven-wicket victory over Leeward Islands last Thursday at this venue and a 134-run win over the Combined Campuses & Colleges last Saturday at the Everest Cricket Club before losing to Trinidad & Tobago by 36 runs last Monday at the same venue.
HPC finished second in Group-A behind hosts Guyana with eight points, after their first two matches against Barbados and Guyana ended in no-results following weather interference last Wednesday at Everest and last Friday at this venue respectively before they overcame Windward Islands by seven runs last Sunday at Everest to confirm their place in the Final Four.
The two teams are playing for a place in the Final, where they will face Trinidad & Tobago, winners by four wickets over the Guyanese on Wednesday here.
The Final will also be contested under the lights at this ground on Saturday with Sunday being a reserve day.
