Sarwan out of Regional Super50, Dowlin called up

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Guyana will be without batting star Ramnaresh Sarwan for this month’s West Indies Cricket Board’s Regional Super 50 Championship after failing to recover in time from a back problem.

The 31-year-old was named in Guyana’s 14-man squad pending the results of a fitness test scheduled for Friday, and played in a practice match on Thursday scoring 68 in a confident looking 78-ball innings.

Guyana v Windwards on Super50 Opening Day

Georgetown, Guyana– Host Guyana will open their Regional Super50 campaign against the vastly improved and always feisty Windward Islands on October 19th.

The other opening day match will be joint defending champions Barbados going up against the Barbadian based Sagicor High Performance Centre Team which beat the West Indies in Dubai today.
