St John’s, Antigua– Jamaican all rounder Nkrumah Bonner, who was today named on the West Indies Twenty20 squad for two matches against England has said that his time at the Sagicor High Performance Centre has helped his game significantly.

Bascombe, Charles, Bonner & Christian get WI T20 call up

 

St John’s, Antigua– Opening batsmen Miles Bascombe and Johnson Charles along with all rounder Nkrumah Bonner and wicketkeeper Derwin Christian have been called to the West Indies Twenty20 squad to play against England in September.

Dwayne Smith, the Barbadian all rounder, makes a return to the Windies team while pacer Fidel Edwards gets a Twenty20 selection after returning to Test cricket earlier this year.

Guyana have Leewards on the ropes

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Leeward Islands were slipping to an innings defeat against a rampant Guyana at the end of the second day of the opening round of matches in the WICB Regional Under-19 Championship on Tuesday.

At the close on a rain-hit day at the National Stadium, the Leewards were struggling on 112 for six in their second innings, still 98 runs away from avoiding a heavy defeat.

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Guyana’s bowlers, led by Anthony Adams, set things up, and their batting, starring newcomer Chanderpaul Hemraj, helped the hosts claim first innings points over Leeward Islands in the WICB Regional Under-19 Championship on Monday.

Adams collected four wickets for 16 runs from 7.2 overs, and Amir Khan snared three for 39 from eight overs, as Leewards, choosing to bat, were dismissed for 107 in their first innings inside the first hour after lunch on the opening day of their first round match.

Shiv reflects on his record-breaking 133rd Test

Roseau, Dominica – It was his 133rd Test match, a record making him the most capped West Indian, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul found himself having to bat his team out of trouble. The champion left-hander had done it many times before in his outstanding career, and everyone backed him to deliver another back-to-the-wall performance. Chanderpaul delivered another master class in front the sell-out crowd at Windsor Park, as they came to see the country’s first Test match.
