Guyana bowlers come good Bajan bats fail to fire

Guyana’s bowlers and fielders were on top of their game as they restricted Barbados to 134-5 in the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 at Queen’s Park Oval on Saturday night. Guyana will need to make 135 to win the match and take home the sparkling, new Caribbean T20 trophy and the US$25 000 cheque. It was the spinners who controlled the show – sending down 12 of the 20 overs.

Bajans have Guyana under great pressure

Guyana only managed 44 runs and lost two wickets in the first 10 overs as Barbados’ bowlers worked really hard in the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 at Queen’s Park Oval on Saturday night. Guyana will now need to get a move on in the final 10 overs to get the target of 135. Their two best batsmen Ramnaresh Sarwan (17 not out) and Narsingh Deonarine are at the crease. This promises to be a close finish to what has been a superb CT20.
