Guillen smashes third century in trials
COUVA, Trinidad - Prolific opener Justin Guillen smashed his third consecutive century in national trials Tuesday to further press his claim for selection on the Trinidad and Tobago squad.
Guillen slammed a classy 158 following his two centuries scored during a weekend trail match and now appears to have secured a spot on the national side.
His impressive innings led the Amit Jaggernauth XI to 344 for nine at the close of play on the first day of the three-day practice match against a Gibran Mohammed XI in Couva, west central Trinidad.
Guillen, whose hundred is his third in as many matches, shared an opening stand of 277 with Isiah Rajah who scored 146.
Trials continue Wednesday and end on Thursday.
Trinidad and Tobago will play Windward Islands in their opening match of the regional four day competition from February 15 at the Arnos Vale playing field in Kingstown.
