FRUITLESS TOIL ENDS IN DEFEAT FOR WEST INDIES “A” v INDIA "A"

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – West Indies “A” failed to find a bowling spark, as Abhimanyu Easwaran and Anmolpreet Singh carved out unbeaten half-centuries to lead India “A” to a seven-wicket victory in the second “Test” on Saturday here.

The West Indies “A” bowlers failed to make inroads into the Indians’ batting, after the visitors resumed the final day at Queen’s Park Oval on 185 for three in search of 278 for victory.

No one could find a way through, as Easwaran, unbeaten on 58, and Anmolpreet, not out on 51, shared an even, unbroken, fourth-wicket of 100 to usher thee visitors over the finish line about 45 minutes after lunch.

The result meant that West Indies “A” trail 0-2 in the three-match series, after losing the first “Test” last Saturday by six wickets at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.

The final “Test” between the two sides begins on Tuesday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy about 51 kilometres from this venue in the southern region of this island.
