Foundation wins Intermediate title

Bridgetown, Barbados - Christ Church Foundation won the Barbados Cricket Association’s Intermediate Title by virtue of a first innings lead over Rocklyn Isolation Cavaliers at the Foursquare Oval on Sunday.

Starting the final day on 87 for two in reply to a first innings total of 269 all out off 108.2 overs, Isolation Cavaliers were bowled out for 235 in 75.4 overs. Foundation captain Joffra Archer grabbed five for 50 off 19 overs to follow his attacking topscore of 86 on the third day.

DaCosta Atherley topscored for the St. Andrew team with an unbeaten 74. The 58-year-old Atherley batted for 216 minutes, faced 135 balls and struck two fours and two sixes.

It was the third BCA title for the Church Hill-based Foundation this season and their most prestigious following their retention of the Schools' Under-19 championship and the capture of the Goddard Enterprises Schools' division. Foundation also won the 2012 Sir Garfield Sobers Schools' International tournament.

Apart from Archer, Jerome Jones took two for 33 off 11.4 overs and Aaron Jones, two for 76 off 25 overs.
