Windies enter camp to face Aussies

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Red hot off-spinner Sunil Narine is among 30 players due to arrive here Thursday to begin a two-week training camp in preparation for the upcoming Digicel Series against Australia.

The Trinidadian, who made his One-Day International debut against India in Ahmedabad last November, will be one of 13 non-contracted players participating in the camp. The Windies are preparing for upcoming Digicel Series against Australia which runs from March 16 to April 27.

Aussies leave out pacer Ryan Harris

Melbourne, Australia - Australia have left out pacer Ryan Harris from the One-Day International squad for the upcoming Digicel Series in the West Indies to allow young quick James Pattinson to continue his development after recovering from a foot injury.

Harris was replaced by 21-year-old Pattinson for the remainder of Australia’s home ODI Tri-series against India and Sri Lanka after being outshone by the likes of fellow Test bowler Ben Hilfenhaus and ageing paceman Brett Lee.

Bishoo preparing to face Aussies

ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo says he is using the Regional Four-Day Championship to develop strategy for Australia’s tour of the Caribbean starting next month.

“This tournament will form part of the build-up to what we can all expect to be a tough series against Australia,” the 26-year-old said.

“I have not played against Australia, but I have been watching and paying close attention to what is happening so I have a few ideas and plans about how to bowl when I get the opportunity.”

St Kitts, Antigua to host Guyana

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that Guyana’s third and fourth round matches in the Regional 4 Day Tournament will be held in St Kitts and Antigua respectively.

Third Digicel Test moved to Dominica

 

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that it has taken a decision to move the Third Digicel Test which was originally scheduled to be played at the Guyana National Stadium.
