Ramkessoon 'happy' for T&T opener

That's how Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) chairman of selectors Dudnath Ramkessoon described opener Adrian Barath's call-up to the West Indies team for the current home tour against Australia.

Watson not surprised by spirited WI

 

KINGSTOWN, St Vincent, CMC – Australia captain Shane Watson says West Indies’ fighting spirit in the ongoing five-match One-Day International series has not come as a surprise.

West Indies lost the opening game by 64 runs last Friday but bounced back to win the second by five wickets last Sunday.

Butts backs Barath to fit right in

Gros Islet, St Lucia — Chairman of West Indies Selectors Clyde Butts expects Adrian Barath to “fit right back in” when he joins the West Indies team for the fourth and fifth Digicel One-Day Internationals at Beausejour Stadium. Barath has replaced Kieran Powell in the 13-man squad.

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent – Adrian Barath was chosen to replace fellow opener Kieran Powell in the West Indies 13-member squad for the last two Digicel One Day Internationals against Australia in St. Lucia this weekend.

Barath has overcome his recent spell of injuries and gave firm evidence of his fitness with a hundred for his native Trinidad & Tobago against Guyana in their sixth round match of the Regional 4-Day Tournament last weekend at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
