DBTSC beat MSC in tapeball final

Georgetown, Guyana - Double Black Two Sports Club (DBTSC) defeated Malvern Sports Club (MSC) by six wickets to win the final of the MSC tapeball competition played recently at Canal number one ground.
MSC batted first and scored 87-6 with Elvis Williams scoring 27 and Mark Smith 25. Victor Dass and Omadatt Atmahadeo picked up two wickets apiece.
Double Black Two Sports Club (DBTSC) replied with 89-4 off 8 overs. Peter Persaud smashed an unbeaten 48 (3×4,5×6) and Ravi Hardyal made14. Sanjay Coonauth took 2-10.
In the third place play off, MT United overcame West Side by 15 runs. MT United took first strike and posted 71-2 off their reduced six overs. Raghunath Raghoo stroked 40 (1×4,5×6) and Narine Rampersaud 19.
West Side Voltz responded with 56-3 in six overs. Navin Latchman made 37. The Best Batsman prize went to Andre Kwang of MSC with a total of 83 runs, the Best bowler award was given to Devendra Singh of DBTSC with 15 wickets for 15 runs. Chaitram Choonilall of West Side Voltz collected the best dressed player accolade, while the Best Bowler award went to Davendra Singh of DBTSC with 5 wickets for fifteen runs.
In the semi finals, MSC got the better of West Side Voltz by 52 runs. MSC scored 136-4 batting first. Andre Kwang made 79 and Sanjay Coonauth 45.
West Side Voltz were restricted to 84-4 in reply with Narine Latchman getting 34 and Chaitram Choonilall 31.
Double Black Two Sports Club beat MT United by 51 runs. DBTSC managed 104-4, taking first strike with Christ Deen scoring 50.
MT United replied with 53 all out. Denvendra Singh claimed 3-4 and Ryan Deen 3-12.
