Crushers off to winning start

St John's, Antigua - Pigotts Crushers made a winning start in the Antigua Commercial Bank/Richie Richardson Limited Overs Competition.

The Pigotts’ men recorded a nine-wicket victory against Urlings over the weekend as they continue to reap success in domestic programme.

Batting first, Urlings were all out for 113 with their top score coming from R Jarvis who made 23. There were also two knocks of 18 each from F Roberts and Trevor Erskine.

In reply, Pigotts raced to 116 for one as Brandon Jno Baptiste starting with the bat, stroked an unbeaten 52. There was also a creditable performance from Ajarni Frederick who made 38 not out.

The other scheduled match between Harney Motors Mahico and St Paul’s was affected by rain.

Pigotts Crushers will also come up in the finals of the Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB)/Sir Curtly Ambrose One Day Cricket Competition against John Hughes.

The finals of that competition will be played on Thursday at Pigotts playing field.

Also, the Antigua Commercial Bank/Parish League Cricket presentation will be held on  April  29 at 7 pm at the Sir Viv Richards Cricket Ground.
