Gayle back to bolster Jamaica

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Chris Gayle, one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket, was due to fly into St. Lucia Thursday to bolster Jamaica’s chances of capturing the only regional title that has eluded them.

Talismanic opener Gayle will replace the injured Andre McCarthy in the line-up and is expected to play the side’s final match of the preliminary round of the Caribbean T20 against Combined Campuses and Colleges on Friday.

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Leeward Islands held their nerve in a tense finish to beat Combined Campuses and Colleges and gather their first win of the Caribbean T20 on Wednesday.

Defending 127, the Leewards held the CCC to 123 for eight off their 20 overs, after the students needed eight off the last over.
