Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – For the second year in a row, Trinidad and Tobago went on a six-hitting carnival against the Leeward Islands.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Guyana overcame an indifferent batting display with a gutsy bowling performance to stun Barbados by 42 runs, and post their second win in the Caribbean Twenty20 at Queen’s Park Oval on Thursday night.

Rolled over for a paltry 108 off 19 overs after they were sent in, Guyana conjured up a magical performance in the field to bundle out Barbados for 66 – their lowest ever T20 score – and maintain their unbeaten run.

Steady Simmons wants first ton

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Jan 10, CMC- Attacking Trinidad and Tobago opening batsman, Lendl Simmons, says he wants to become the first player to score a century in the Caribbean T20 tournament.

The closest a player has come to that milestone was Chadwick Walton who was undefeated on 99 for Combined Campuses and Colleagues against Guyana earlier this week.

Simmons was named Man-of-the-Match against Leewards Wednesday after a blistering 62 from 46 balls in which he hit five sixes.

Pollard the ultimate crowd pleaser

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- Crowd favourite Kieron Pollard says he is motivated to perform as a result of the large crowds which have been turning out to back Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean T20 tournament underway in his homeland.

Pollard hit three of the tournament’s biggest sixes to score 29 off 12 balls and took two wickets in an over as T&T beat Leewards by 95 runs to go top of the table on Wednesday.

The defending champions were leading the table with nine points after four days of competition.
