Barclay (82) beefs up Sagicor HPC
LUCAS STREET, Barbados – Marlon Barclay missed out on a hundred, propping up the Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre’s batting against a Barbados XI in a two-day training match on Tuesday here.
The left-hander from Trinidad & Tobago led the way with 82, as the Sagicor HPC were bowled out for 284 on the opening day of the contest at the Windward Sports Club.
Barclay struck seven fours and two sixes from 178 balls in close to four hours of batting after the WIHPC won the toss and chose to bat.
Several HPC players got starts without carrying on – guest player Anthony Alleyne supported with 30, John Campbell scored 29, Kyle Mayers made 27, Raymon Reifer got 25, Tyrone Thophile added 24, Dalton Polius hit 23 and Shai Hope 20.
All-rounder Roston Chase was the pick of the Barbados bowlers with 4-34 from 12.3 overs of his accurate off-spin.
The Barbados XI reached one without loss from two overs when stumps were drawn.
