WICB and Digicel join forces to launch Youth Development Programme

Bridgetown, Barbados: The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Digicel, proud sponsor of cricket in the West Indies today announced details of the Digicel Youth Cricket Development Programme. The two-year agreement will see youth development clinics take place in all WICB territorial boards – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago – with hundreds of aspiring young cricketers being coached in the basic skills of the game, with a view to creating a pool of talented young West Indian cricketers.

Bajans thrilled to clinch seventh Under-13 title in eight years

Barbados played like true champions on Saturday to defeat Nevis and win the St Kitts and Nevis Under-13 Cricket Festival. Playing at the Elquemedo Willett Park, the Bajans made a challenging 191-2 off their 25 overs to win by 42 runs. The home side batted well and replied with 149-5 off their 25 overs in front a vocal and supportive crowd, to finish second in the tournament.

Barbados and Nevis in showdown for Under-13 title

Barbados and Nevis set up a last-day showdown on Saturday when they scored wins in the penultimate series of matches in the St Kitts Under-13 tournament on Friday. While the defending champions Barbados defeated Bermuda by 54 runs, Nevis also remained unbeaten with an easy eight-wicket win over neighbours St Kitts.
