Simmons ton not enough as St Catherine triumph

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados,  CMC – St. Catherine defied a typically stylish 120 from Lendl Simmons, and were crowned the new Barbados Cricket Association Super Cup One-day champions, following a one-wicket victory over Carlton on Sunday.

Chasing 231 for victory from their allocation of 50 overs, St. Catherine reached their target with six balls remaining in the Final at Kensington Oval.

Estwick calls for wider use of video analysis

Bridgetown, Barbados– West Indies Under 19 Head Coach and Sagicor High Performance Center Bowling Coach Roddy Estwick is appealing to Territorial Boards to incorporate greater use of video analysis to aid in the improvement of player performance in regional tournaments.

“Video analysis is perhaps the most important coaching tool in modern cricket and we need to ensure we utilize it widely, especially the at the regional team level,” Estwick pleaded.

Alleyne's class gives Bajans 305 lead

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Anthony Alleyne and Shane Parris stroked half-centuries to put Barbados within sight of victory against Windward Islands on the second day of their first round, WICB Regional Under-19 Championship match on Tuesday.

The left-handed Alleyne played some well-timed strokes in a typically attractive 79 while opener Parris got 60, as Barbados finished the day on 292 for eight in their second innings, an overall lead of 305 runs.
