Archer, Hosein top BCA Elite division averages as Boucher, Bishop boast of most runs and wickets

Bridgetown, Barbados - Bridgetown - Fast bowling all-rounder Jofra Archer of rock-bottom Guardian General Barbados Youth tops the batting averages and Super Centre Spartan left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein heads the bowling after Series 8 in the 2013 BCA LIME Elite division championship.
Rashidi Boucher, the Spartan and Barbados opener, however, boasts of being the only batsman with over 500 runs while experienced all-rounder Derick Bishop, the captain of Republic Bank St. Catherine, has the most wickets (39).
Archer, a Barbados Under-19 team player, has a very impressive average of 115.50 after being dismissed only twice in nine innings which have produced 231 runs. He has two half-centuries - both co-incidentally 53 not out in succession against St. Catherine at Lester Vaughan, Cane Garden in the fourth series and CGI Maple at Trents.
Hosein, a member of the Barbados-based Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre, has enjoyed a dream debut local season with 35 wickets at just 8.54 runs apiece in four matches.
A Trinidad & Tobago first-class player, Hosein has six consecutive five-wicket hauls - he has also bowled in only six innings - for what is unquestionably a record of sorts in the top BCA domestic championship.
His best figures are seven for 48 in the second innings against BDFSP for a match haul of 11 for 81 in the fourth round when he made his debut at Paragon. (See story on list of centuries and five and ten-wicket hauls).
Boucher has amassed 543 runs from 12 innings including one not out, at an average of 49.36, which puts him fourth on the list. His highest score is 161 in the first innings against Carlton at Desmond Haynes Oval in the fifth series and he is also the only batsman with two centuries, having hit 101 off BDFSP.
Bishop's 39 wickets have come at a cost of 13.77 runs each with a career-best eight for 43 against BDFSP at Paragon in the fifth series.
